AWESOME FIRST GAME - AND YOU MADE IT POSSIBLE!
AHSMB had a great trip to Gadsden, put on a wonderful halftime show, and played their hearts out in the stands in support of our AHS Tigers football team. And it wouldn't have happened without the amazing volunteer parents who make up the Auburn Band Parents Association! Your work in our only major fundraising effort - the Concessions at the AHS varsity football games - provided funding for the buses that got the band safely and comfortably to and from Gadsden, bought the shiny new (to us) truck that pulls our new equipment trailer, paid for our beautiful new sousaphones that out-sparkled the football teams' new helmets on the field, and purchased a truckload of bottled water to keep our kids well-hydrated in the stands (no band members collapsed on the turf with cramps!). A big shout out as well to all the terrific parents who chaperoned!
BUT, we've only just begun for this season! We need each and every parent whose child is a band member in the Auburn City Schools to help out - check your calendar, then go to the Charms Volunteer page (here) and sign up! There are still a lot of spaces to be filled and we need you. The ABPA doesn't only support our marching band, it provides instruments and support for ALL our bands - so Drake and Junior High parents, you are helping YOUR child, too, when you volunteer.
A few hours is a small price to pay to ensure the success of a program that will pay dividends long into your child's future.
